Tigers Vs. Yankees: Starting Lineups For Tuesday's Game

The Detroit Tigers used a masterful pitching performance from ace Justin Verlander to cruise to a 7-2 victory on Monday, and will be hoping for similar results from right-hander Rick Porcello on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.

In search of their sixth straight victory, the Tigers have averaged eight runs per game over their current stretch, and are just one win shy from moving exactly 10 games above .500 for the season. In the No. 2 hole as expected for Tuesday's showdown will be second baseman Omar Infante, who continues his rather unusual back-and-forth flip-flop between the top and bottom of the order based on the starting pitcher.

Looking more and more like the ideal type of player the Tigers needed to add to bolster their middle infield positions, Infante owns a .293 average in 12 games with Detroit thus far. The 30-year-old veteran is now hitting .467 in the month of August with seven hits in 15 at-bats to go with seven runs batted in.
