Tigers Vs. White Sox Final Score: Errors, Home Runs Doom Detroit In 6-1 Loss

A nightmare sixth inning seemingly summed up the Tigers season and undid them in a 6-1 loss to the White Sox Monday night in Chicago.

The loss pushes the Tigers three games of back of the White Sox in the AL Central standings.

The Tigers scored first on an RBI single from Jhonny Peralta. In the sixth, Alex Rios hit a three-run home run and A.J. Pierzynski followed with a solo shot two pitches later to extend the lead to 4-1. It was a disaster inning for the Tigers, as starter Rick Porcello had pitched well up to that point, and the Tigers' defense committed two errors in the frame.

The Tigers went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position, while the Sox went 2-for-16. Eight of the nine players in Detroit's starting lineup had a hit.
