The Detroit Tigers look to rebound against the Chicago White Sox after dropping the first game of the four-game series. Detroit now sits three games behind the White Sox in the AL Central with only three head-to-head games remaining between the two teams.
The Tigers will turn to Doug Fister (8-8, 3.54 ERA), who looked strong in his last start, allowing only one run over seven innings against the Cleveland Indians. The White Sox will counter with Jake Peavy (10-10, 3.22), who has struggled against the Tiger this season. On Aug. 31 these two pitchers met in Detroit with the Tigers winning. 7-4, getting six runs, nine hits, and four walks off Peavy over six innings. Detroit is hoping for a similar effort on Tuesday as they look to even the series at one game apiece.
