Detroit Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer (15-6, 3.93 ERA) looks to win his sixth straight start as the team opens a three-game series in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 10:05 p.m. Friday.

The Angels start Ervin Santana (8-11, 5.32 ERA). Jered Weaver was originally scheduled to start, but an injury caused the Angels to skip him in the rotation.
