The Detroit Lions brought in several players for workouts on Tuesday. Dave Birkett reports the Lions brought in six players, including linebacker Greg Jones and running back Rock Cartwright.

Jones was a standout linebacker at Michigan State and a sixth-round pick of the New York Giants in 2011. Jones recorded 31 tackles for the Giants last season and started several games for New York, but he was released in the final round of cuts during the 2012 offseason.

Rock Cartwright was drafted in the seventh round by the Washington Redskins in 2002 and spent eight seasons in Washington as a running back, fullback and kick returner. Cartwright played with the Oakland Raiders in 2010 and 2011. He spent training camp with the San Francisco 49ers but was cut in late August.

The Detroit Lions are coming off their bye week at 1-3 and travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Sunday.
