With 15,269 career rushing yards, Sanders retired at third on the NFL's all-time rushing leaderboard with Pro Bowl appearances for each of his 10 seasons in the league. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
He's not the only Lions player that will be a subject on the show, as the NFL Network is scheduled to premiere "A Football Life: Chris Spielman" on Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. Spielman played linebacker for the Lions from 1988-1995.
The time and date of the episode about Barry Sanders have not yet been revealed.
