Following a disheartening 13-7 loss to the rival Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, the Detroit Lions held a scheduled walk-through on Wednesday instead of a full contact practice due to their shortened week.
Six players did not take part in Wednesday's walk-through and would have been held out if the team did practice, including receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive end Cliff Avril. Johnson tweaked his knee in Week 7 and will now be forced to deal with a second injury along with his slightly banged-up ankle, while Avril was reportedly held out with a back problem.
In addition to losing receiver Nate Burleson for the season in Monday's loss, the Lions once again listed two pass-catching weapons in Brandon Pettigrew and Titus Young as limited participants on their initial Week 8 injury report. Both players, along with the defensive trio of Louis Delmas, Stephen Tulloch and Corey Williams, were all listed as limited participants on Wednesday with knee injuries.
