The Detroit Lions added defensive end Kendrick Adams to their practice squad Wednesday and assigned cornerback Lionel Smith to the practice squad injured reserve, according to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com. Adams, a rookie, signed as an undrafted free agent with Jacksonville, but was cut from the Jaguars roster on Aug. 31. He also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year. The pass-rush specialist played two seasons of college football at LSU, and is a native of Enterprise, Ala. He has yet to make an appearance on an active roster this season.
Lionel Smith, also a rookie, was signed to the Lions' practice squad on Oct. 3. He was initially signed by the Dallas Cowboys, but has not made an appearance with any NFL squad this season. Smith played college football at Texas A&M.
The Lions, who are 2-4 on the season, face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit.
