Lions vs. Seahawks score: Defenses rule scoreless third quarter

After a fairly clean first half, the defenses clamped down for the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks in the third quarter as the teams went scoreless. The Seahawks still hold a 17-14 lead.

Detroit was driving and at the Seattle 29 when a deep pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford to tight end Tony Scheffler was picked off by Seahawks safety Earl Thomas at the Seattle 3-yard line.

Seattle moved 33 yards toward Detroit territory before quarterback Russell Wilson returned the favor, going deep to Sidney Rice but instead getting intercepted by Detroit's Renardo Silva at the Lions' 18-yard line. Silva returned the ball 26 yards before being tackled by Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch has taken nine carries for 90 yards, but most of those came off a 77-yard touchdown run in the first half.

Stafford has 268 yards, two touchdowns and the third-quarter interception. Titus Young leads Detroit with 86 yards and six catches through three quarters.
