The Detroit Lions have already made one trade at this year's deadline -- acquiring Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Thomas -- and are still looking for to make more moves, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. At the top of their list, according to an earlier report by La Canfora, is a veteran safety. The position hasn't been a strength recently for the Lions, and they are ailing after Louis Delmas re-injured his surgically repaired knee.
The deadline was originally Tuesday, but it was pushed back to Thursday in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. It's still unclear what the Lions are willing to give up in another trade or what players might be on the trade market at safety or any other position.
In the Thomas trade, the Lions relinquished a 2014 fifth-round draft pick in order to bolster a receiving corps that has struggled at times to relieve pressure from Calvin Johnson.
