The Detroit Lions continue to deal with a slew of injuries as 11 players either missed Thursday's practice or were limited.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson (knee), defensive end Cliff Avril (back), safety Louis Delmas (knee), and safety Amari Spievey (concussion) all did not participate in practice. Johnson said he is sitting out practice to rest, and is expected to play on Sunday. Avril missed practices last week as well, but has yet to miss a game this season. Spievey missed the Lions 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks due to his concussion.
Linebacker Jason Durant (quad), cornerback Jacob Lacey (concussion), linebacker DeAndre Levy (hamstring), tight end Brandon Pettigrew (knee), linebacker Stephen Tulloch (knee), defensive tackle Corey Williams (knee), and wide receiver Titus Young (knee) were all limited at practice on Thursday. Levy, Pettigrew, and Williams all sat out practice on Wednesday, but returned in some capacity on Thursday.
Running back Mikel Leshoure and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch both missed practice on Wednesday for non-injury related reasons and returned on Thursday. Cornerback Bill Bentley was placed on injury reserve.
The Lions Week 9 opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars were missing several players at practice on Thursday, including running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who will sit out with a sprained foot.
