In a game between two teams traveling in opposite directions, the 4-4 Detroit Lions face the 5-4 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in a game critical to the NFC North and Wild Card races. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, with television coverage on Fox.

The Lions have won two straight games, including a 31-14 win at Jacksonville last Sunday in which quarterback Matt Stafford completed 22-of-33 passes for 285 yards. The Lions are first in the NFL in passing yards, averaging more than 307 yards per game. However, the Lions' passing game could be hindered Sunday by the loss of top wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has missed practice this week with a knee injury. Johnson sat out practice last week, as well, before torching the Jags with seven catches for 129 yards.

Minnesota has lost two straight games, falling three games behind the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. On Monday night, the Vikings were defeated by Seattle, 30-20, despite 182 rushing yards from Adrian Peterson. The star running back now has 957 rushing yards on the season, leading a Minnesota rushing attack that is ranked fifth in the league.
