Unable to take part in practice to start the week after sustaining a concussion in Week 10, Detroit Lions' defensive end Cliff Avril returned to the practice field in a limited capacity on Thursday.
Avril was one of four players on Detroit's official injury report to suit up for the first time on Thursday, joined by defensive back Chris Houston, safety Erik Coleman and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Houston and Avril were the only two significant injuries from Sunday's loss to Minnesota, but each are hoping to suit up against Green Bay this week despite their limited distinctions.
Also limited for the second straight day was starting kicker Jason Hanson, who continues to nurse an injury on his non-kicking foot. While he is not expected to miss any game action, Hanson also sat out a handful of practices with a left knee injury last season.
