Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the third consecutive season. He had 143 yards on five catches on Sunday against the Packers to put him over the edge. Johnson has 65 catches for 1,117 yards on the season, but has only three touchdowns to his credit.
Johnson is in his sixth season in the NFL, and he has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in four of them. In 2009, he was 16 yards short of 1,000. However, with only three touchdowns in 10 games, he's on pace for his lowest touchdown total since his rookie season. Johnson had 16 touchdowns in 2011, and 12 the year before that. He's been adversely affected by quarterback Matthew Stafford's struggles and opposing teams focusing almost solely on him, but Johnson's ability to still produce yardage is extremely impressive.
The Lions host the Houston Texans this Thursday for their traditional Thanksgiving Day home game.
