The Detroit Lions have lost two straight games, and both of them were against NFC North opponents. The Minnesota Vikings picked up a 10-point win in Week 10 and most recently, the Green Bay Packers were able to best them by a score of 24-20. They're now 4-6 and last place in the NFC North Division, a far cry from where many thought they'd be at this point in the season.
Joel Thorman of SB Nation released his Week 12 NFL power rankings and he has the Lions all the way down at No. 19, firmly in the bottom half of the NFL, and down two spots from last week following the Green Bay loss.
19. Detroit Lions (LW: 17, 4-6): The Lions are in trouble. They still have to play four of the 10 best teams in the NFL the rest of the way, including the Texans, Packers, Falcons and Bears.
That's about as low as the Lions have been all season. Many expected them to make another leap in progression with Matthew Stafford continuing to evolve with an offense that was one of the league's best in 2011. Instead, they're just not keeping up in any way, and would likely have to win out to make the playoffs with the way the NFC has looked as of late. It's going to be tough to try and get a hold on one of those wild card spots.
