2012 NFL schedule, Week 12: Lions host the AFC's best in the Texans on Thanksgiving

The Lions will have their hands full when the Texans come to town on Thanksgiving.

The Detroit Lions will host the Houston Texans at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS as part of a three-game Thanksgiving slate.

The Lions are 4-6 and in fourth place in the NFC North during a season that began with high hopes and dreams of contending for a divisional crown. And though the offense has produced the top passing attack in the league and the eighth-best defense against the pass, they have been inconsistent during games and their funks last for games at a time, like losing three out of their first four games of the season and the current two-game losing streak they're on now.

The Lions' gift are the Houston Texans, who are 9-1 and first in the AFC South. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is coming off a game where he threw for 527 yards so the Lions' defense will have to be ready.

The rest of the NFC North will see the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears in a huge divisional game at noon Sunday, and the Green Bay Packers travel to New York to take on the Giants in the Sunday Night Football game at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.
