A story from Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports last week about the Detroit Lions' struggles in 2012 included an anonymous quote from a Lions player that put part of the blame on defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. On Thursday, center Dominic Raiola hit back, saying that he was tired of hearing anonymous quotes criticizing Suh.
"That's not cool,'' Raiola said. "I think that anonymous stuff has gotten out of hand. I don't know who would do that. I don't believe it's anybody in here. I hope it's not.''
The Lions were thought to be a playoff team by many entering the 2012 season, but they struggled out of the gate and have stumbled to a 4-8 record. Suh has been in the headlines several times this year for his reckless and sometimes dangerous actions on the football field, and it's led many to be extremely critical of him.
Raiola, on the other hand, claims that Suh is "everything I want in a teammate," and went on to say he had his back.
The Lions travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals this Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
