Lions LB Stephen Tulloch: 'We're just not producing right now'

Veteran Detroit linebacker Stephen Tulloch voiced his frustration to the media on Sunday following a 28-point loss to Arizona.

Dealt their sixth straight defeat on Sunday afternoon in blowout fashion, the Detroit Lions continued their embarrassing slide down into the dredges of the league with their 10th loss of the season.

One of many players who never quite expected the drop-off following last year's playoff berth, veteran linebacker Stephen Tulloch expressed his sheer frustration to Justin Rogers of MLive.com after Sunday's disheartening outcome.

"To lose six games straight with as much talent and ability as we have in this room, I don't know what to say," Tulloch said. "It's hard for me to explain. We have to be accountable across the board. Obviously the quarterback is the main guy, everybody wants to point fingers at him, but it's not just him, it's everybody."

The 27-year-old Tulloch also thinks that the sheer amount of individual priorities permeating the roster with the season already lost is starting to become a serious issue. That coupled with the off-the-field distractions that have continued to present themselves over the last calendar year are absolutely the recipe for disaster as far as Tulloch is concerned.

"If you're focusing on things going on outside the field, that's a problem," he said. "Obviously, when you're playing in the last year of your deal, you have a lot weighing on you -- the pressure, the stability of your family, whatever it is. Sometimes players tend to do different things, try to make plays here and there. That kind of hurts a little bit."

Despite being destroyed in a record-setting 58-point loss to Seattle the previous week, the Cardinals found a way to score five total touchdowns and a season-high 38 points on Sunday with the hapless Lions in town. And with a pair of playoff-contending teams in Atlanta and Chicago remaining on the schedule, the Lions may very well be on the verge of a complete collapse after starting the year out at 4-4. It was already abundantly clear that a number of players needed to get their priorities straightened out, but Tulloch's comments may hint at more of a locker room issue than it appears.
