Calvin Johnson has been rewarded for his record-setting season. The Detroit Lions wide receiver has been named as one of the two starting wide receivers for the NFC's 2013 Pro Bowl team.
Johnson broke Jerry Rice's single-season receiving yards record in Week 16, and still has one game left to add to the new record. Through Detroit's first 15 games, Johnson has 117 receptions for 1,892 yards and five touchdowns. Johnson will be hard pressed to become the first receiver to have 2,000 receiving yards in a season though, as the Lions face off against a tough Bears defense in Week 17.
Johnson will start alongside Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall in the Pro Bowl -- provided either doesn't bow out with injury, and the Bears don't reach the Super Bowl.
Per Tim Twentyman, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh have been named alternates to the NFC's Pro Bowl team.
