The 2015 recruiting class is still a ways away, but the Michigan Wolverines will receive an unofficial visit from top 2015 big man Diamond Stone over the weekend. Stone, who attends Dominican High in Wisconsin, is rated by both Scout and ESPN as the No. 2 overall prospect in his class.

The recruiting process for Stone is just getting started, and it's not expected to accelerate much while he's on campus in Ann Arbor. John Beilein doesn't offer prospects a scholarship until June 15 after their sophomore year, which for Stone would be in 2013. That said, Stone will get a feel for the campus and for the city -- his father, who hails from Flint, has ties to the region.

Stone's AAU coach told MLive.com that Stone is still very wide open in the process but likes the direction that the Wolverines are headed in. His interest in Michigan has reportedly sparked curiosity in other prospects around the country -- big man Karl Towns Jr., the one player rated ahead of Stone, has also expressed interest in Michigan.
