The NCAA men's college basketball Associated Press Top 25 poll was released on Friday, and the Michigan Wolverines are listed at No. 5 in the nation behind the Indiana Hoosiers, Louisville Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats and Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Big Ten has certainly staked its claim as the best conference in the country. Indiana (No.1), Ohio St. (No.4) and Michigan (No. 5) populate the Top-5, while Michigan State (No. 14) and Wisconsin (No. 23) also crack the Top-25. It's a top heavy collection of talented teams that should produce an exciting race during the winter.

Trey Burke and company earned the second spot in the Big Ten preseason rankings released on Media Day, so it's interesting to see that they were jumped by Aaron Craft, Deshaun Thomas and the Buckeyes in the minds of the AP writers at the national level.
