The Michigan Wolverines will play Pittsburgh in the 2012 NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 21. Kansas State will play Delaware in the other semifinal with the two winners playing in the finals on Nov. 23 on ESPN.
The Wolverines have opened the season with three consecutive wins versus Slippery Rock, Cleveland State and IUPUI and are ranked fifth in the AP and USA Today polls.
Pittsburgh is also 3-0 to the start the season after defeating Mount St. Mary's, Fordham and Lehigh. The Panthers will play Oakland University on Nov. 17 before playing the Wolverines at Madison Square Garden.
Michigan is led in scoring by their returning guards Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. who are averaging 18.3 and 17.3 points per game respectively. Freshman Mitch McGary is averaing 5.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in his first three games for the Wolverines.
Pittsburgh is led in scoring by Tray Woodall who is averaing 16.3 points per game.
