Michigan Wolverines guard Nik Stauskas was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday, according to the school's website.
Stauskas has played in all five games for the Wolverines this season, but he has yet to start one. In 25 minutes per game, which is the fourth-best mark on the team, Stauskas is averaging 11.6 points per game, which is also the fourth-best mark on the team.
The 6'6 freshman out of Canada had his best game Nov. 21 against Pittsburgh. In 33 minutes on the floor, Stauskas scored 15 points and hauled in five rebounds. He was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and sank 1-of-4 3-pointers.
With Stauskas strong off the bench, the Wolverines are the third-ranked team in the country with a 5-0 record.
The Wolverines will have one of their biggest tests of the season Tuesday night. They will host No. 18 North Carolina State at 7:30 p.m. ET.
