The Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team tips off the 2012 season on Friday night vs. Slippery Rock, but before that they'll get one last exhibition tune-up on Monday night. That comes against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, a Division II team from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The big news for the Wolverines will be the return of star guard Trey Burke, who missed the team's opening exhibition game due to suspension. In that game, the No. 5 Wolverines easily defeated Northern Michigan 83-47.
Saginaw State was picked as the seventh-best team in the GLIAC before the season, and are being directed by first-year head coach Randy Baruth. Last season, Baruth spent the year as the director of basketball operations for the Utah Utes. The team features senior guard Chris Webb, a preseason first-team all-conference selection.
Monday night's game begins at 7 p.m. ET at the Crisler Center on campus in Ann Arbor.
