The Michigan Wolverines lead the Illinois Fighting Illini 10-0 after the first quarter Saturday.
Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has completed 3-for-3 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. He has also ran the ball three times for 18 yards.
On the opening possession of the game, Illinois had a fourth and short at the 50-yard line and elected to punt. Michigan scored five plays later when Robinson found Jeremy Gallon on a short pass that Gallon turned into a 71-yard touchdown.
After forcing another Illinois punt, Michigan drove inside the Illinois 10, but the Wolverines were stopped on three straight running plays and settled for a 19-yard field goal by Brendan Gibbons.
Fitzgerald Touissaint has five carries for 20 yards. Roy Roundtree has a 33-yard reception.
Illinois has just 43 yards of total offense. Nathan Scheelhaase is 2-for-4 for four yards. Running back Donovonn Clark has five carries for 24 yards.
