With a 45-point destruction of Illinois on Saturday, Denard Robinson and the Michigan Wolverines kept themselves atop the Big Ten's Legends Division with their second conference victory of the season.
Robinson churned out 159 passing and 128 rushing yards in the win, and helped his program keep pace with the Iowa Hawkeyes as the only two undefeated schools in the Legends Division. The Hawkeyes themselves outlasted Michigan State in double overtime to move to 2-0 in conference games, in a battle that served to further drop Mark Dantonio's Spartans down the standings.
After being dealt their third loss over the last five weeks, the Spartans are now 1-2 in Big Ten play and sit alone in fifth place in the division. Even with an Oct. 20 showdown with the Wolverines in Ann Arbor looming large, Dantonio's team still has to square off against Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota and Northwestern before the year is out.
