The Michigan Wolverines got their first win over in-state rivals Michigan State in their last five tries and moved up to No. 22 in the SB Nation BlogPoll. The Wolverines are up three spots from last week's ranking and have now won three straight games.
Michigan's offense was stifled against the Spartans, but they kept Michigan State in check and were able to grind out a 12-10 victory. The Wolverines' offense has been explosive against lesser opponents, but struggled against Alabama, Notre Dame and MSU.
The ballot breakdown shows that the highest ranking Michigan received was 14th, and two different bloggers placed them at that spot. The most common ranking for the Wolverines was 20th. Michigan remains the second highest ranked team in the Big Ten, behind only Ohio State (No. 9); no other Big Ten teams are in the top 25.
Next week the Wolverines travel to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers.
