Michigan Wolverines' quarterback Denard Robinson is expected to start this Saturday against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, according to head coach Brady Hoke during a radio interview on Thursday:
"We feel real good. He's gotten better each day, feels better each day. It's a little bit of a different injury, it's come back this time a little slower, but he feels good."
Robinson injured his elbow last Saturday in the Wolverines' 23-9 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and it appeared that he may miss the Minnesota game after Hoke moved Devin Gardner back to quarterback this week in practice. Gardner came to Ann Arbor as a quarterback, but had moved to wide receiver before the start of this season.
Hoke defended moving Gardner back to quarterback, as he said they were planning on doing that in case of an injury that kept Robinson out for a long length of time. Russell Bellomy came in for Robinson in the Nebraska game, and went only 3-16 for 38 yards and three interceptions. Bellomy is still considered the backup quarterback, but if Robinson has to miss any additional time this season, Hoke said the starter will be the one who earns it in practice.
