Michigan vs. Ohio State: Desmond Morgan to return on Saturday

Desmond Morgan sat out last week against Iowa with an undisclosed head injury, but he is expected to return this week.

Michigan Wolverines linebacker Desmond Morgan will return to action on Saturday against Ohio State, according to Kyle Meinke. The sophomore did not dress for Michigan's game against Iowa last Saturday. Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press cites balance issues as a possible reason for Morgan's absence, but not very much is known about the injury.

Morgan has been key for the Wolverines' defense this season, amassing 68 tackles despite missing two games. Michigan's defense has allowed just 18.1 points per game, which ranks 17th among all FBS schools and third in the Big Ten.

Defense will be especially crucial this weekend against Ohio State, as the Buckeyes average 38.2 points per game, which is best in the Big Ten. When these two teams met last season, Michigan won, 40-34, in a high-scoring affair. This year's game is likely to be similar, so Morgan's presence could give the Wolverines a boost.
