Will Hagerup's future with Michigan up in the air following suspension

Michigan Wolverines' junior punter Will Hagerup was recently suspended for the third time in three years, which puts his status with the team in doubt for next season.

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

The No. 18 Michigan Wolverines are set to take on the No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks on Jan. 1 in the Outback Bowl, but they will be without starting cornerback J.T. Floyd, linebacker Brian Hawthorne and punter Will Hagerup, all of whom were recently suspended by the team for a violation of team rules. The incident could be the last straw for Hagerup, who won the Big Ten's award for punter of the year this season but also suffered his third suspension in three years for violating team rules.

Hagerup is just a junior, but head coach Brady Hoke refused to comment on the punter's status for next season when asked by reporters. A decision on Hagerup's future with the team is expected to emerge when the team returns to Ann Arbor after bowl season, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com
