Coming into the 2010 season, I knew Michigan State would be improved and have the chance for a solid start with the way the schedule set up. Even so, it's still hard to adjust to seeing things like this:
↵↵No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Mark Schlabach of ESPN has Michigan State projected to play Boise State in the Rose Bowl. On paper, with MSU's record and remaining schedule, this is very realistic. Still, as someone who wasn't even alive the last time the Spartans were in the Rose Bowl, this is just unusual to see.
↵For what it's worth, Andrea Adelson, the other bowl projector, is apparently not on the MSU bandwagon just yet, as she has the Spartans playing LSU in the Outback Bowl. In all honestly, I think that would be a disappointment for MSU given how things are setting up right now. Then again, in the grand scheme of things being disappointed by the Outback Bowl is a sign of how far the MSU football program has come under Mark Dantonio.
↵In case you're wondering where Michigan is at in these projections, both Schlabach and Adelson have the Wolverines playing Florida in the Gator Bowl. I would say I'd much rather not play the Gators right in their backyard, but at this point a New Year's Day bowl is much better than nothing. Plus, things went well the last time the Wolverines met the Gators down in a Florida bowl game, so why not do it again this New Year's?
