The newest BCS rankings were just made public. Michigan State has dropped down to 14th, slipping nine spots after losing to Iowa on Saturday. The Spartans are ranked 15th in the new USA Today Coaches Poll and 16th in the new Harris Poll, so the computers must still like them a bit. Perhaps that will change as they play three games against weak teams to finish the season, though.
Here is a full look at the new BCS rankings:
- Oregon
- Auburn
- TCU
- Boise State
- Utah
- Alabama
- Nebraska
- Oklahoma
- Wisconsin
- LSU
- Ohio State
- Missouri
- Stanford
- Michigan State
- Arizona
- Iowa
- Oklahoma State
- Arkansas
- South Carolina
- Mississippi State
- Baylor
- Virginia Tech
- Nevada
- Florida State
- North Carolina State
As mentioned in the original post of this StoryStream, the BCS rankings aren't relevant to the Spartans for national title purposes, but to position themselves for a potential at-large bid to a BCS game if the Rose Bowl doesn't happen, they will want to climb up the rankings as much as they can in the final weeks of the season.
