Maui Invitational: Michigan State Survives Another Upset Bid To Beat Washington, 76-71

Maui, HI (Sports Network) - Kalin Lucas poured in 29 points and Durrell Summers canned a pair of three-pointers late in the second half, as second- ranked Michigan State pulled out a 76-71 win over No. 13 Washington in the third-place game at the Maui Invitational.

Lucas, who went 9-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, seemed to suffer a knee injury with 2:42 left in regulation when Washington's Matthew Bryan-Amaning landed on his left leg. Lucas limped off the floor, but returned a short time later and made the two clinching free throws with 1.5 seconds left.

Summers, who finished with 12 points, drilled two attempts from far away, ultimately giving the Spartans (4-1) the lead with just over two minutes remaining. Draymond Green also scored 12 in the win, one day after the Spartans lost to Connecticut.

Bryan-Amaning scored 15 points to pace the Huskies (3-2), who were coming off a seven-point loss to Kentucky.
