Bad news for Michigan State as the Spartans prepare for the Capital One Bowl. Junior wide receiver B.J. Cunningham broke his foot in practice on Saturday and will not be available to play New Year’s Day against Alabama.
MSU coach Mark Dantonio expects that Cunningham will recover in time to participate in spring practices next year.
Cunningham was Michigan State’s top receiver this season with 50 catches and nine touchdowns. His 611 yards were second on the team to Mark Dell’s 761.
Keshawn Martin will likely take Cunningham’s place in the Spartans’ lineup.
