No. 12 Michigan State Sluggish In Home Loss To No. 18 Texas

(Recap from The Sports Network)

East Lansing, MI – Jordan Hamilton scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help No. 18 Texas defeat No. 12 Michigan State, 67-55.

Tristan Thompson had a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards for Texas (10-2), which has won four straight games and seven of its last eight. Gary Johnson added 14 points in the win.

Kalin Lucas led the Spartans with 17 points and five rebounds while Durrell Summers chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds. The Spartans (8-4) shot a pedestrian 29 percent from the field to give them their first loss since December 7 versus Syracuse.

Despite returning head coach Tom Izzo, who served a one-game suspension for a minor NCAA rules infraction, Michigan State saw its 52-game home win streak against non-conference opponents at the friendly confines of the Breslin Center come to an end.
