Dwaun Anderson Lands At Wagner College

The reigning Mr. Basketball in the state of Michigan has finally found a home to play college basketball. Dwaun Anderson, who was originally set to enroll at Michigan State this season and play for the Spartans, has decided to enroll at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. Anderson will not play this season, as he is expected to enroll as a non-scholarship student before going on scholarship with four years of eligibility during the 2012-13 season.

Anderson elected to not join the Spartans this season due to some personal issues away from the court. His mother, Mary Lynn Anderson, passed away this May, and coach Tom Izzo had no issues with the release from his scholarship earlier this summer:

"It wasn't anything negative with Coach Izzo or the players," Anderson told the Advance. "I love Coach, and I had a lot of friends on the team. But I guess I was still grieving, and I realized I needed to get some other things together before I could move on with basketball."

Wagner was 13-17 this past season and 9-9 in the Northeast Conference.
