Michigan State's Mike Sadler Named Big Ten Special Teams Player Of The Week

Michigan State ended Saturday afternoon all by itself in first place of the Big Ten legends Division, thus controlling its own destiny on its way to the inaugural Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis. Monday morning the Spartans got an additional honors, as freshman punter Mike Sadler was named the Big Ten's Special teams Player of the Week:

·         Placed four of five punts inside the 20-yard line, with 175 yards on five attempts

·         Had two punts downed inside the Minnesota 10-yard line with under eight minutes to play, including one at the six-yard line

·         Claims his first career honor

·         Last Michigan State Special Teams Player of the Week: Kyler Elsworth (Oct. 24, 2011)

It is the second time in three weeks that the Spartans have had a player earn this honor, as Elsworth earned it two weeks ago.
