Michigan State got an unexpected test from Lehigh on Thursday night in East Lansing. The Mountain Hawks came to play and actually led by three points at halftime. Michigan State bounced back from the deficit and put together a solid second half. MSU outscored Lehigh 55-43 during the final 20 minutes of the game and won by a score of 90-81.
Michigan State had four players in double figures in this game. Keith Appling led the way with 19 points, 12 of which came from free throws. Draymond Green, who came off the bench, scored 16 points. Branden Dawson scored 14 points and Austin Thornton had 11.
Lehigh also had four players in double figures. Holden Greiner led all scorers in this game with 24 points. C.J. McCollum put up 19 points for the Mountain Hawks, and Mackey McKnight and Gabe Knutson each had 14 points.
This win was Michigan State's 11th in a row. The Spartans haven't lost since dropping the first two games of the season to North Carolina and Duke. Their next game will be a big showdown with undefeated Indiana at the Breslin Center on Dec. 28.
