Michigan State Vs. Central Connecticut State: Spartans Playing The Other Blue Devils

The Michigan State Spartans are playing the Blue Devils on Wednesday night. Not the team from Duke, but rather Central Connecticut State's finest men's basketball team.

The Michigan State Spartans are involved in a game against a team with a familiar name, but not so much a familiar game, as they play host to the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils on Wednesday night. The other Blue Devils entered the game with a 5-2 record while looking to put the first blemish on the Spartans perfect 5-0 record at home this season.

The first half didn't exactly go as planned for the home team, however, as the Spartans led by just two points at halftime. Aside from Draymond Green and his nine points, the Spartans' starters scored just seven points in the first half. Derrick Nix and Travis Trice contributed 15 points off the bench for Tom Izzo's squad, however, to ensure the home team would take a lead into the second half.

The Blue Devils entered the game undefeated in the Northeastern Conference and it's easy to see why after playing the Spartans close in the first half. Senior forward Ken Horton, a 6-foot-6 playmaker averaging over 23 points entering the game, paced Central Connecticut State with 11 points in the first half.
