The first non-preseason college football rankings for 2011 have been released. One week of the season is in the books, and the new polls are based on what went down in Week 1.
Because Michigan State played a sloppy game against Youngstown State, the thinking was the Spartans could drop in the new rankings. As it turns out, they stayed in the same spot in the this week's AP Top 25 as the preseason edition of the poll, coming in at No. 17 in the nation.

Michigan received 17 votes, which is good for 37th overall. Notre Dame is 36th overall with 22 votes.
