Despite struggling a bit with Youngstown State on Friday night and not playing their sharpest game, Michigan State did not take a hit in this week's college football rankings. In fact, the Spartans actually moved up a spot in the USA Today Poll. They are now 16th after being ranked 17th in the preseason version of the poll.

Just like the AP Top 25, Michigan is 37th overall in the USA Today Poll. They received 15 total votes. Interestingly enough, Notre Dame only received eight votes. That puts the Fighting Irish 42nd overall in the USA Today Poll.
