College Basketball Rankings: Michigan State Hits Top 5, Michigan Still Top 20

Michigan State and Michigan are both in the Top 25 of the Coaches Poll this week, with Michigan breaking the top 5 as they took over the Big Ten conference.

Presswire

Both Michigan and Michigan State are in the top 25 polls, though the Spartans are on the upturn comparatively. After clinching at least a chunk of the Big Ten during the week, Michigan State moved up to No. 5 in the rankings. Michigan aren't doing quite as well but still have a chance to get a top piece of the conference and are at No. 16 in the rankings.

Kentucky remained tops in the coaches poll once again, and Syracuse stayed right behind them as both teams have continued to win in dominating fashion over just about everybody they've faced. Duke were moved up a spot to third place and after their huge comeback victory over Mizzou, Kansas moved up to fourth. Obviously, the top five is closed out by the Spartans.

Creighton are the only team to move up into the top 25 that weren't there last week, starting out at 24th with Temple right below them.
