DeAnthony Arnett, a former Tennessee receiver who transferred to Michigan State in January, will be eligible to play for the Spartans this season, according to the official Twitter page for Michigan State football:
The NCAA has granted WR DeAnthony Arnett's request for a residence waiver, so he will be eligible to play in 2012.— Spartan Football (@MSU_Football) May 10, 2012
Arnett, a Saginaw native, chose Tennessee over Michigan State and Michigan but said he wanted to transfer closer to home because of his father, who has had multiple heart attacks.
As a freshman at Tennessee, Arnett had 24 receptions for 242 yards. Rivals.com ranked Arnett as the No. 12 receiver prospect in the 2011 class.
