The Michigan State Spartans are still in the running for Jabari Parker, the No. 1 high school basketball recruit of the 2013 class.

The top basketball recruit of the 2013 class could end up with Michigan State when it's all said and done, but Jabari Parker definitely has a long list of schools on his wish list. There are at least 10 schools the 6-foot 8, 230 pound 17-year-old from Chicago is considering, with the Spartans being on that list along with Kentucky, Stanford, Kansas, Florida, Duke, BYU, Georgetown, DePaul and North Carolina.

Duke and BYU appear to be leading the way in recruiting Parker, but don't rule out Tom Izzo's crew. CBSSports.com's college basketball insider wrote a feature story on Parker and had this to say about him:

He's capable of scoring in just about every way imaginable. He can shoot it from deep, can put it on the floor, pulls up from 15 feet and also can score in the post. He's unselfish to a fault, preferring to defer to his teammates and opting to utilize his high basketball IQ and passing ability. He plays hard nearly every possession, is athletic and also rebounds and defends.

The 17-year-old Parker spends much of his time watching tape of former NBA stars like Michael Jordan, Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson and even Bob Cousy.

Parker's father Sonny, who played six seasons for the Golden State Warriors, calls his son a throwback player. This is aside from him coming off as such a good kid, dedicated to his studies and faith, Goodman said.
