College football season is just around the corner, which means that it's time to start speculating about who will win the end of season awards for the 2012 season! Watch lists are starting to get released for the various awards, with Monday bringing out the Maxwell (Best overall player in the nation) and Bednarik (Best defensive player) lists.
Both Michigan and Michigan State have some representation on the lists, with the Spartans in particular getting a lot of names:
BEDNARIK AWARD:
CB Johnny Adams, Michigan State
LB Denicos Allen, Michigan State
LB Max Bullough, Michigan State
DE William Gholston, Michigan State
MAXWELL AWARD:
RB Le'Veon Bell, Michigan State
QB Denard Robinson, Michigan
RB Fitzgerald Toussaint, Michigan
The Spartans having four different names on the Bednarik list ties them for the most on there with Alabama and LSU. Not bad company to be in.
Of course, it's only speculation on these lists and players can easily win the awards even when they're not on them.
More lists will continue to be released in the next two weeks as July goes along.
