Michigan St. Spartans freshman wide receiver Aaron Burbridge has returned to practice, the team announced Tuesday. Burbridge was the highest-rated prospect in the state of Michigan, but injured his knee during the summer and underwent arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 15, 2012. At the time of the surgery, it was thought that Burbridge would miss six weeks, so it's encouraging to see him back on the field, even if it's only to practice.
Spartans coach Mark Dantonio has said it is possible that Burbridge could still see playing time this season despite missing the team's entire training camp and all MSU practices up to this point due to his knee injury. It will take time for Burbridge to get into shape, learn the system and get all the reps he needs to get ready, but an early return to the practice field is a promising sign.
