Michigan State Trustees Renew Contracts Of Tom Izzo, Mark Hollis, Suzy Merchant

Michigan State's Board of Trustees approved contract renewals for basketball coaches Tom Izzo and Suzy Merchant as well as athletic director Mark Hollis on Friday.

Michigan State University's Board of Trustees approved of contract renewals for head men's basketball coach Tom Izzo, head women's basketball coach Suzy Merchant and athletic director Mark Hollis on Friday, according to a report by Diamond Leung at MLive.com.

Izzo, following a season in which the Spartans were co-champions of the Big Ten Conference in the regular season, Big Ten conference tournament champions and Sweet Sixteen participants, has a new rolling contract that, according to the article, will now run through June 30, 2019.

Merchant's rolling contract, after leading her Spartans team to a 20-12 overall record and NCAA tournament berth last season, now expires on June 30, 2017.

Hollis, who formerly had a fixed term deal that was converted by the university to a rolling contract in June, has a new contract also extends through June 30, 2017.
