Michigan State Vs. Central Michigan 2012: Game Time, TV Schedule, Odds And More

Coming off a home victory against Boise State, the Michigan State Spartans are staying in state for a road match-up against the Central Michigan Chippewas on Saturday afternoon. Both teams enter the game with 1-0 records after winning their respective season openers.

Central Michigan flashed an impressive rushing attack in its 38-27 victory over Southeast Missouri State last week, rushing for the seventh-highest total of any team in the country. With two different rushers, Zurlon Tipton and Anthony Garland, combining for over 280 yards, the Chippewas were basically able to run wild.

Michigan State should provide a bit more of a challenge for Central Michigan this week. Facing a typically impressive Boise State offense last week, the Spartans limited the Broncos to just 37 yards rushing on 24 carries, good for a pretty miserable 1.5 yards per carry. But the Spartans will have to take care of the ball better on offense after handing over four turnover to the Broncos.

While this game is undoubtedly important, both teams are looking forward to big games next week. Michigan State returns home to host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sept. 15, while Central Michigan heads west to face the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Game Date & Time: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET

TV: ESPNU

Point spread: Michigan State favored by 20 points
