Jabari Parker puts Michigan State in top 5

Jabari Parker, the No. 1 recruit of the 2013 class on ESPN's Top 100, has narrowed his potential schools to five with Michigan State earning one of the spots, according to Reggie Rankin of ESPN Recruiting. Along with the Spartans, Parker is also considering Stanford, BYU, Duke and Florida as finalists, in no particular order.

Parker is a senior at Simeon Career Academy, the same high school as 2011 NBA MVP Derrick Rose, and won the Gatorade Player of the Year award for his play during his junior year. The 6'8, 225 pound forward has won many accolades during his high school playing career, including All-American honors from ESPN and USA Today.

The 2011-12 Michigan State Spartans finished 29-8 overall and was the No. 5 team in the AP Ranking at the end of the season. However, they were upset by the Louisville Cardinals during the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament.
