Michigan State Spartans wide receiver Aaron Burbridge has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his breakout performance against the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. Entering the game, Burbridge had two career catches to his name, but he's quickly put his name into the record books.

With eight catches for 134 yards against Indiana, Burbridge is the first true freshman in Michigan State football history with more than 100 yards receiving in a single game, an impressive feat for a player that had only appeared in two other games beforehand.

The 6'1", 190-pound native of Farmington Hills, Mich., may finally be emerging in a receiving corps that's had mixed results this season. His 134 receiving yards against Indiana is the most by any true freshman against an FBS opponent this season, as the school notes.

After the big game, only four other players on the Spartans have more receiving yards than Burbridge so far. The team's leading receiver, junior Dion Sims, is a tight end.
